OCDI Joins Stakeholders to Advance Women's Economic Empowerment Policy in Kwara State
Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) joined government representatives, development partners and other key stakeholders at a three-day workshop to support the domestication of the Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy in Kwara State. The workshop focused on strengthening collaboration, identifying implementation priorities and developing practical frameworks that will improve economic opportunities for women across the state.

Focused Group Discussion on Insecurity and Its Impact on Women in Kwara State
On August 25, 2025, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) facilitated a Focused Group Discussion with women from selected Local Government Areas in Kwara State to document the impact of insecurity on women, families, and livelihoods and to amplify women’s voices in peace and recovery efforts.

16 Days of Activism
As a member of the National Coalition of Civil Society to End Child Marriage, OCDI, in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs, visited Warrah Oja Secondary School to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism. The engagement brought together students, teachers, and the school counselor to discuss ending violence against women and girls. Key insights emphasized the importance of respecting boundaries, promoting mutual respect among adolescents, and strengthening collaboration between teachers and counselors to prevent and address violence both in school and at home.

Report, Track and End Abuse
OCDI is proud to partner with NACTAL and NAPTIP to deploy the innovative Talkam case management app, powered by Devatop Center for Africa Development. This cutting-edge platform enables users to report abuse free of charge while supporting partners in efficiently tracking and managing cases. Together, this initiative strengthens the fight against trafficking and abuse—encouraging everyone to take action and speak up through TALKAM.

Psychosocial Support
The Women Voice and Leadership project, supported by ActionAid and funded by Global Affairs Canada, has served as a beacon of hope for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Through this initiative, safe spaces have been created for survivors to share their voices, seek justice, and rebuild their lives with dignity and support.
