Olive Community Development Initiatives had a town hall meeting at Iludun in Oro, Kwara State on Friday, 20th January 2023. The representatives of Obas, Chiefs,Religious leaders, Women leaders, vigilante groups and youth leaders were present at the meeting. The aim of the meeting was to give women the opportunity to talk about security issues in their community and also let them know their role in terms of peace keeping, conflict resolution and challenges women face during conflict.

OCDI MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF OBAS, CHIEFS, WOMEN LEADERS, SECURITY GROUPS AND RFELIGIOUS LEADERS
On Friday, 20th January 2023, Olive Community Development Initiative (OCDI) convened a town hall meeting in Iludun, Oro, Kwara State. The meeting brought together key community stakeholders, including representatives of traditional institutions (Obas and Chiefs), religious leaders, women leaders, vigilante groups, and youth leaders—fostering inclusive dialogue on community security. The primary objective of the engagement was to create a safe and empowering space for women to share their experiences and concerns regarding security challenges within their communities. It also aimed to strengthen awareness of women’s critical roles in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and community cohesion. Discussions highlighted the unique challenges women face during conflicts, while also emphasizing their capacity as agents of change in promoting peace and stability. The session encouraged collective responsibility and strengthened community commitment to more inclusive and responsive security systems.
